Hairspray est le droit film produit par New Line Cinema, Ingenious Film Partners, Offspring Entertainment, Zadan / Meron Productions, de travailler avec un description du film est "Malgré son physique passablement arrondi, la jeune Tracy n'a qu'une idée en tête : danser dans la célèbre émission de Corny Collins. Par chance, ce dernier assiste à une de ses performances au lycée et lui propose de venir rejoindre son équipe.
